A Tester Accepted the Invite But Isn't Showing as Active

A tester says they opted in and installed. Play Console says they're inactive. Four reasons.
1. Console lag
Updates roughly daily. If they installed in the last 24 hours, wait.
2. They never opened the app
The device only phones home after the app opens once. Ask them to open it.
3. Sideloaded instead of installed via Play
If you sent them an APK, the install doesn't count. They must install from Play's tester listing.
4. They opted in with one account but installed with another
Multi-account Android phones make this easy. The Google account on the Play app must match the opt-in.
The fastest check: ask the tester to open Play Store → search your app → confirm the “You're a tester” banner appears.
