Write a Play Store Description That Converts

Your Play Store listing is your homepage. Most devs treat it as documentation and lose 30% of potential installs.

The short description (80 chars)

Indexed for ASO. Use your primary keyword once. Make it a benefit, not a feature.

The long description (4000 chars)

  • First 2 lines: the hook (visible without expanding).
  • Then: 3–5 key benefits as scannable bullets.
  • Then: social proof — reviews, press, install count.
  • Last paragraph: secondary keywords naturally woven in.

The mistake 80% of devs make

Writing a feature list. Features tell, benefits sell. “Offline sync” is a feature. “Your notes available even on the subway” is a benefit.

A/B test it

Play Console → Store Listing Experiments. Test the short description first — biggest lever, smallest write.
