How to Find Google Play Testers on Reddit (Without Getting Banned)

· 4 min read

Reddit can deliver 12 testers in a day if you play by the unwritten rules. Break them and you'll get banned before anyone clicks your link.

Subreddits that allow tester requests

  • r/TestersCommunity — explicitly built for this, no karma gate.
  • r/AndroidDev — weekly self-promo thread (read the sidebar for the day).
  • r/SideProject — accepts launches and beta requests.
  • r/IndieDev — mostly games but Android welcome.

What not to do

  • Don't post the same message in 8 subreddits in an hour. Anti-spam will catch you.
  • Don't DM users who comment. It's reportable in most subs.
  • Don't hide that you need testers for the 12-tester gate. Be straightforward.

A post that converts

Title: “[App Name] — Need 12 Google Play testers for closed testing (mutual welcome).” Body: one sentence on what the app does, the opt-in URL, an offer to test theirs in return. Reciprocity gets upvotes.
