A realistic day-by-day timeline from new Play Console account to live app in production. Buffer included.
Day 0–2: Account setup
- Create account, $25 fee.
- Submit ID + address. Verification 1–7 days.
Day 3–7: App prep
- Build signed AAB.
- Privacy policy hosted.
- Store listing, screenshots, content rating.
Day 8: Closed track + tester recruitment
- Create closed testing track, upload AAB.
- Submit for review (a few hours).
- Recruit 15 testers.
Day 9: Testers active
12+ testers active. The 14-day clock starts.
Day 23: 14-day window complete
- Verify 12+ active throughout. Submit production release.
- Production review: 1–7 days for first app, often faster.
Day 30 (realistic best case): Live
Most indie devs hit production around day 30–40 of starting the account. Plan accordingly.
